What You Will Experience
In this workshop, you’ll experience authentic Japanese culture through hands-on Japanese calligraphy.
More than learning how to write beautifully, calligraphy invites you to slow down, focus, express yourself creatively, and enjoy the simple pleasure of creating something with your own hands.
Participants will experience:
Experience Japanese culture through authentic calligraphy using traditional brushes, sumi ink and washi paper.
Create your own unique artwork while exploring brushwork, composition and personal expression.
Experience Kanji through rhythm, balance and brush movement, rather than simply memorising characters.
Take time for yourself, slow down, and enjoy a calm, creative experience away from the pressures of everyday life.
Meet like-minded people and share a unique cultural experience inspired by the Japanese spirit of Ichigo Ichie.
Leave with a finished piece of Japanese calligraphy and a memorable cultural experience to treasure.
